Danger – Unsafe Patient Transfers in Wide Use Nationwide

We have traveled across the country calling on a wide variety of patient care facilities.  We have trained more than a thousand CNAs, nurses, physical therapist, and physicians in the principle of the balance pivot and the 14 Safe Patient Transfer techniques.  We have learned a lot about the hazards of manual patient transfers and offer a solution to this problem for caregivers.

One thing we observed more than anything else was the difficulty caregivers have returning the patient to their seat.  We offer the Slide Back Technique where a simple rocking motion with the hips and knees will lift the patient and cause them to move to the back of the seat without the need to lift or pull or push them.  See the Slide Back at mrswivel.com  Safe Patient Transfer principles, training, testing, and certification.
