Patient Safe Handling: No-lift manual transfers

Patient safe handling requires that you eliminate lifting and twisting during the transfer process. To eliminate lifting you use leverage and to eliminate twisting you use a lateral transfer plate. The combination reduces the transfer weight of the patient by 90% turning a 170  lb patient into a 17 lb transfer load.  This is easily handled by even the smallest caregiver.
