The No Transfer Zone Safe Patient Transfers

You are all familiar with the term no-fly zone. The same principles apply to patient transfers. There are 3 clearly defined zones and the patient’s zone is a no-transfer zone. You can only enter this zone for two reasons: 1. to attach a gait belt or to grab a gait belt. 2. To lean the patient forward. Before the transfer begins you must return to the neutral zone.
