Transferring patients from the car to the wheel chair

The same principles apply to transferring patients from car to wheel chair or the reverse.  Their legs are secured, their chair positioned correctly, their feet are strapped and positioned correctly,next a minimum about of effort is required to gently tip them to the balance position over the swivel.

It requires about 1 lb of force to rotate them to the chair where they are slowly released into place.  The small portable device is then picked up and can be attached to the wheel chair so it will be available when you arrive at your destination.
